Interesting fact says that the first World Cup match took place on 1930!
The first World Cup match was played on July 13, 1930, between France and Mexico in Montevideo, Uruguay. France won the match 4–1 and Lucien Laurent of France scored the first goal.
Interesting fact says that the first team from Africa to play in World cup was Egypt!
Egypt played only one game in the 1934 tournament and lost 4–2 to Hungary in Naples, Italy. Egypt didn’t play in the final rounds again until 1990, when the country played three matches with a defeat and two ties.
Interesting fact says that the first team from Asia to play in World cup was Indonesia!
The Dutch East Indies (today known as Indonesia) qualified for the World Cup final round in 1938 as the first ever representative from Asia. The team made the long journey to France to play only one match, a 6–0 loss to Hungary in Reins. It is the only World Cup final-round contest in the country’s history.

Substitutions were not alloed in World Cup play until 1970. Viktor Serebryanikov was the first player to be replaced, by Anatoliy Puzach after 45 minutes, who was inserted into the match against Mexico on May 31, 1970, in Mexico City. The contest ended in a scoreless tie.
Interesting fact says that Juan Ignacio Basaguren was the first subsitute to score a goal!
Juan Ignacio Basaguren of Mexico made history on June 7, 1970 against El Salvador by becoming the first substitute to replace a substitute in a World Cup final-round match and the first substitute to score a goal, helping Mexico to a 4–0 victory.

Uruguay’s Pedro Cea was the first player to score in an Olympic final and a World Cup final. In the 1924 Olympic gold-medal match, Cea connected in a 3–0 win over Switzerland. He also had a score in the first World Cup final, as Uruguay defeated Argentina 4–2.

The U.S. women were unbeaten in six matches, and Akers-Stahl scored ten goals.

Interesting fact says that the first international match was played in 1872!
Eventhough England and Scotland are both part of United Kingdom, the first official international football match was played between them on November 30, 1872. The game ended in a 0–0 draw.
Interesting fact says that the first football match played during the night was in 1878!
The first football and soocer match played under lights was contested on October 14, 1878, from Bramall Lane in Sheffield, England. Floodlights, each projecting the equivalent light of 8,000 candles, were mounted on 30-foot poles, one at each corner of the field. The power was supplied by a pair of Siemens dynamo engines situated behind each goal. The use of lights for soccer matches in England didn’t become widespread until the 1920s.
Interesting fact says that the first radio broadcast of a football match was in 1927!
The first radio broadcast of a football match took place on January 22, 1927, during a game between Arsenal and Sheffield United at Highbury Stadium in London.
Interesting fact says that the first live television broadcast of a football match was in 1938!
Football and Soccer’s first live television broadcast came during England’s FA Cup final in 1938 as Preston defeated Huddersfield 1–0.

The first Olympic soccer competition was an unofficial exhibition held in conjunction with the first modern Olympic Games in Athens, Greece, in 1896. The match pitted a squad from Denmark against one representing Greece. The result of the match has unfortunately been lost to history.

On November 13, 1985, Danish midfielder Soren Lerby became the first player to compete for two different teams in two different countries on the same day. Lerby’s exhausting day began in Dublin, Ireland, as he helped Denmark to a 4–1 win in a World Cup qualifying match against Ireland. Lerby left the match in the 58th minute with Denmark leading 3–1 and took a private jet supplied by his club, Bayern Munich, to West Germany for a third-round cup game in Bachum. Lerby came in as a halftime substitute in a 1–1 draw.

Soccer historians claim the first soccer match between two collegiate teams took place in 1869 between Princeton and Rutgers in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Rutgers won 6–4. College football historians trace the origins of their sport to the exact same contest.
Interesting fact says that Oneida Football Club was the first soccer team established in the United States!
It was founded in 1862 and ceased operation in 1865 after three undefeated seasons in which the team didn’t allow a goal. The players came from Boston high schools. Established by Gerrit Smith Miller, Oneida was also the first soccer club formed outside of England. The matches were played on Boston Common, and, in 1925, the seven surviving members of the team placed a six-foot-high monument on Boston Common in memory of the club.

Referee Wendy Toms and assistants Janie Frampton and Amy Rayner became the first all-women team of officials at a men’s professional match on September 13, 1999. The three officiated a minor-league match in England between the Kidderminster Harriers and Nuneaton Borough.

the 1930's, the fascist party of Italy, under Mussolini, so despised
British football that they invented an alternative sport for the masses,
called volate, which was a hybrid of football and rugby. The new game never got going.

While no one knows
exactly how the “soccer ball” came into existence, many forms and
variations have been documented throughout history. In 1836 Charles
Goodyear patented vulcanized rubber. Prior to this, football and soccer balls were
dependent on the size and shape of the pig's bladder.

in Athens shows and athlete balancing a football on his thigh as a young

Prior
to that, there was no standard rules for size of teams or the field. Earliest organized games, usually bitter confrontations between teams
from two or three parishes, had football goal posts as far as 5 km (3 miles) apart. It
was only by 1801 that it was (somewhat) agreed that football teams should have
an equal number of players and that the playing area should be about 91
metres (100 yards). Records show that Eton college drew up the first
written rules of football in 1815. (The modern standardized rules are
known as the Cambridge rules.)

the 1880s students of Oxford university abbreviated words by adding
“er” to the end; for instance, breakfast became “brekkers” and “rugby
rules” was referred to as “rugger.” When one student, Charles Wreford
Brown, was asked if he’d like to play rugger, he was the first to
abbreviate “association rules” (Football Association rules) by
answering, “No, soccer.” Brown later became an England international and
Football Association vice-president.
Interesting fact says that the first goal scored directly from a corner kick was in 1924!

Onzari, who played for Argentina took a corner kick and the ball ended
up in the net without anyone else touching it. This type of goal is also
referred to as an “Olympic goal” in football. Unfortunately for Uruguay, they lost
that game because of such a goal, but they did end up winning the gold
in the Olympics.
Interesting fact says that India wanted to play barefoot!
India
withdrew from the 1950 World Cup tournament because FIFA would not
allow the team to play barefoot? India had already qualified but refused
to continue because they wanted to play soccer barefoot!

In 1966 opening match between England and Uruguay was delayed because seven english players had forgotten their identity cards at their hotel. A police motorcyclist was sent to collect them!
Athlectic Bilbao were declared winners of 1904 Copa Del Rey because their opponents in the final, Club Espanol de Madril, showed up on the wrong date!
